Geography Study Club (GSC) of Faculty of Geography of Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta conducted scientific writing competition, debate competition, and national level high school speech competition in Geography Students Creativities Week (Gesture). The current event raises the theme “Indonesian Youth to Act Smart in Dealing with Disasters" held from 29-30 October 2011 at the Faculty of Geography. The event was held in cooperation between the Club, Faculty of Geography, Ministry of Education and Culture, BNPB (National Agency for Disaster Management), and UGM’s Disaster Response Unit (DERU).

Some people said, Senior High school was the most colorful phase in their life. The beautiful place where we were allowed to make mistakes than people would just say "it's allright.. fix it than come back!" Where you learned about differences. How to face and deal with it. How to improve your skill and being judged by people. By your friend, your teacher, your parents, your community. Then you would try your best to prevent misjudgment. You would push your hardest to be heard and to be understood in the right way. But the main purpose was only to be accepted. Many people around were asking me, How could i choose boarding school. Some of them even thought my parents forced me to do so. Then i would explain, that i decided it myself. Commonly they would surprised and continue to ask why.

I've new hobby nowadays. And it is totally out of any other's thought. Few weeks ago, my friend Lia Arista introduced me a website called LOOKLET.COM. When she told me it is about fashion and styled a model i was directly uninteresting. She played this everyday on class computer at school. So we watch her often. For short, i began to play as well. Looklet is the worlds first digital styling studio. I can create looks on real models with their ever growing selection of fashion and accessories. 1. Look Name : Nerd Beauty T his is my first look and i was unexperienced. This girl is a journalist and a book writer who crazy bout literature stuffs.

4 th of June 2011 would remain in my brain as the end of my journey in SMPN 1 Balikpapan. At Ballroom of Grand Senyiur Hotel, lot of voices inside the ballroom mixed as a symphony of enthusiasm to face the waiting adventure as a High School student. At the same time, sadness in the air cannot be hidden anymore. We’ve been together for 3 years. Same classmates, same faces everyday. That made us know and understand each other well. Being apart won’t be a pleasure at all.

Last saturday, we made a surprise party for our dearest pal Safira. We had been prepared since a long time. We contacted Safira's mother, aka Tante Dewi =D she helped and supported us in making the party. We gathered in Aldhita's house as our first base to collect any stuff used for our surprise party; include Eggs and Flour to be Safira's hair creambath ehehehe Than we went to safira's house while she was in Mall with her mom. Along the preparation at Safira's house, we kept contacting her mother. Many of Tante Dewi's crew helped us. Thanks to Safira's maid : Mba Penny =D Theesa bought the birthday cake.

About 3 weeks ago on March 19th, there was an opening of new steak restaurant near our school. And it is called POPSteak. And they've got a very attractive motto under the pamflet, "Steak enak dan Murah". Well, as a student we must be attracted by the word 'MURAH' means cheap in english hoho. Paling gak ini meringankan beban kocek kami , sebagai 9th grader entah kenapa duit musti ngalir buat praktek dan fotocopi ini itu. Apalagi aku termasuk pemegang teguh generasi remaja pelit-,- Kalo kata iklan Axis kan hemat beb....

In our science class, we just reach the chapter of MAGNETISM. Our Science teacher, Mr. Ramelan gave us a new project to make magnet in 3 different methods. We were divided into groups. Commonly, one group consist of 5 or 6 student, but you know that I can’t do anything perfectly when I have to work with too many people around. Crowd makes me uncomfortable and hard to concentrate. So I asked Mr. Ramelan to give me a special exemption to make a group consist of 3 student only. Anyway, my work will influence my mark and I want to get the best mark. Caused by my persuasive and reasonable arguing, he allowed me to choose my partners . Beside, I am his brilliant student =D Than I choosed Devi Putri and Yonita Yuliani as my partners. They are two of the most intelligent student in my class. Devi is the master of Mathematic.
